The book "L’Art Brut de Jean Dubuffet, aux origines de la Collection" (Jean Dubuffet's Art Brut, at the origins of the Collection) received a prize at the 2016 "Plus beaux livres suisses" (handsomest Swiss books) competition

Every year, the Swiss Federal Office of Culture (FOC) holds a competition for the "Handsomest Swiss books," with an eye to distinguishing particularly beautifully executed realizations in book and art production. By the same token, it seeks to attract attention to publications setting forth contemporary trends.

The five-member jury and its president Gilles Gavillet examined four hundred and eighteen books submitted to the competition, among which they selected twenty-four as the most beautiful Swiss books published in 2016.

L’Art Brut de Jean Dubuffet, aux origines de la collection (Jean Dubuffet's Art Brut, at the origins of the Collection) is being published in celebration of the Lausanne Collection de l'Art Brut's fortieth anniversary.

This bilingual (French/English) catalogue features the key moments marking the history of the Collection de l'Art Brut. It covers the exhibition policy followed over the last four decades and, too, the questions of conservation and archiving.
