Presentation of the Almanach de l'Art Brut at the Fondation Dubuffet, Paris

Encouraged to do so by André Breton, Jean Dubuffet undertook to draw up an Art Brut Almanach in May 1948. In a publication consisting of some 230 folios, he roughly mapped out Art Brut's at-the-time not yet fully defined territories. He handed his project over to the publishers Gallimard in the fall of 1948, but the initiative was never launched.
Upon the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Collection de l'Art Brut, the Lausanne museum and the Swiss Institute for the Study of Art, ISEA, are partnering a presentation of this major testimony to Art Brut history.
