We deeply regret to announce that one of Art Brut's major historic figures, Mrs. Jacqueline Porret-Forel, passed away on Friday, March 28th.

The Collection de l'Art Brut is greatly saddened to hear of Mrs. Jacqueline Porret-Forel's death on Friday March 28th. Mrs. Porret-Forel acquainted Jean Dubuffet with Aloïse, and was a member of the first Compagnie de l'Art Brut, set up in Paris.
The Collection de l'Art Brut wishes to underscore Jacqueline Porret-Forel's extraordinary commitment on behalf of Aloïse, and to gratefully acknowledge the digitized catalogue raisonné she drew up of that creator's oeuvre, thus ensuring access to this major Art Brut creator's output for future generations.

In this connection, we would also remind readers of the major exhibition of Aloïse's production put on by the Collection de l’Art Brut in 2012, in partnership with Lausanne's Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts. That event gave us a chance to show in their entirety the works by Aloïse that Jacqueline Porret-Forel had handed over to Jean Dubuffet, and that now belong to the Collection de l'Art Brut holdings. That donation enabled an outstanding ensemble to come into being, enriching a Collection that, without Jacqueline Porret-Forel's generosity, would not have achieved such a high level of importance.

The Collection de l’Art Brut continues to grant their due to the results of Jacqueline Porret-Forel's research on Aloïse by presenting the latter's works at all times, under the auspices of its Permanent Collection.
