Lecture by Sarah Lombardi at UNIL (the University of Lausanne): "Writing to be of the World"

"Ecrire pour être au monde - l'étude du statut des écrits conservés à la Collection de l'Art Brut" (writing to be of the world - the study of the status of writings stored at the Collection de l'Art Brut).
This is the title of Ms. Sarah Lombardi's lecture under the auspices of Vincent Capt's course for a Master's: "Affoler la langue. Ecrits bruts, Antonin Artaud et Henri Michaux" (Stirring up language. Brut Writings - Antonin Artaud and Henri Michaux)

This course is anchored in the artistic and literary topos of madness, such as incorporated into French-speaking European usage, at the least since the second half of the 19th century. Discussion on the subject will be based on the Collection de l'Art Brut in Lausanne's holdings of writings by the pen of asylum inmates, together with the collections "Nouveaux écrits de Rodez" (new writings by Rodez) by Antonin Artaud et "Face aux verrous" (in the face of bolts) by Henri Michaux.
